The Ford Transit does not include a factory front tow point to safely recover the van from. The Van Compass front tow point bolts to the frame and protrudes through the front plastic bumper cover. An aluminum cover plate is included for a clean, finished look. Designed to utilize a 3/4" D-ring to secure a tow rope or winch line to the vehicle, this tow point can be installed on the driver or passenger side of the van. (Sold individually for one side of the vehicle, 2 required to do both sides of a vehicle)

I also am not handy and had them installed. No issues from installer. They look great and are there if needed. Couldn't ask for more. Worth every penny.
I'm not handy so I had them installed. Great piece of mind knowing I now have recovery points in front. Plus they look badass.
I just put this point point on my 2015 Transit and I was thoroughly impressed with the directions for install. Easy to follow and accurate, making the job enjoyable. The only additions I have for the directions are: 1) a long socket extension (8") is mandatory and not merely recommended for removing the bumper post, 2) you will need a die grinder or a good Dremel tool with a grinder post to grind through the spot welds (a angle grinder or grinder wheel are too wide to fit into the space), and 3) a deep socket set makes the installation of the hook easier, because you will not need to lie under the van and use the long socket extension.
Great work with the directions. The hook itself is beefy and looks great. I am happy to have a way to tow from the front if I need to. A great piece of mind type addition to our van.
