SUMO SPRING REAR BUMP STOPS - SPRINTER (1994+ 2500 ONLY) PAIR
SUMO SPRING REAR BUMP STOPS - SPRINTER (1994+ 2500 ONLY) PAIR

The Sumo Spring replaces the factory rear bump stops. It contacts the rear axle sooner to increase the rear suspension spring rate while still compressing to the height of the factory bump stop. Suspension travel is not reduced. The additional spring rate reduces sway, improves control in high winds and comfort while the suspension cycles. Recommended for vans that carry heavy loads most of the time or tow trailers. The additional spring rate will reduce rear suspension sag when loaded. These pair great with our rear tuned Falcon shocks for a complete change in ride dynamics.
All SumoSprings are manufactured from proprietary closed microcellular urethane with materials density, tensile strength, elongation, tear resistance, rebound, and compression characteristics designed specifically to suit drivers applications. Made in USA.
My poor 170 was sagging pretty bad after the bulk of my build was installed and then when I hitched up a trailer I was scraping my hitch and trailer jack on everything! I snagged a set of these hoping it would help a little but they helped a TON! Brought my rear end back up to stock (or at least close) and now I don't have to stress so much around steep driveways! No negative ride change either, if anything, better! But that could be the amazing VC Falcon shocks!
TL;DR: The Sumo Springs are a crazy good value!
The Sumo Springs showed up with the jounce bumpers I ordered and I installed them that weekend. Removal of the old bumpers was a breeze. Installation of the new Sumo Springs took a little WD-40 and some elbow grease to put it kindly, but I got them in. Moved to the front and R&R'd the jounce bumpers in no time.
Afterwards, I took the van for a test drive and drove up and down some curbs, took some corners; Immediate difference. The body doesn't roll/sway as much and cornering is much more stable. Highly recommend these as an essential starting point. Mike from Van Compass was super helpful. He listened to my plan and made recommendations to it that were spot on. Thanks Mike!
I had wanted to install the mini spring pack but they were incompatible with my mono leaf suspension. Wasn't interested in a full spring replacement given most of my travels are going to be highway and I just want to bring a little stability to my near-GVWR van. The Sumo springs turned out to be a great solution. I could tell a difference as soon as I pulled out of my driveway. Between these and the Falcon shocks I have much fewer Crosswind "Assist" episodes and the ones that I do have are much less aggressive.
These are a simple, yet effective improvement for Sprinters. I put them on my '16 4X4 and noticed the difference immediately.
They were actually harder to put in then the fox shocks I put in at the same time. It took quite a bit of muscle to squeeze them in. I could tell a difference right away leaving the parking lot at the curb cut that usually even makes everything in the van shake crazy, also taking corners there’s a big improvement. When I let the weight back down on the axle the rubber of the sumo spring was with in a 1/8” of cupping the axle, so any movement and it comes in contact. I think these paired with the shocks are a must for a 170” sprinter that carries a heavy load.
