The wait is over. Our new Inverted Monotube Rally Strut for the Ford Transit brings a serious step forward in ride control, durability, and real-world performance.
Developed over three years with Falcon, this strut uses the same proven inverted architecture we brought to the Sprinter platform — now engineered specifically for the Transit. Compared to the factory strut, the inverted design increases load-bearing surface area, while the larger damping piston and monotube construction help manage big impacts, control top-out, and reduce on-road sway.
It was built around AWD-specific geometry, so there’s no unnecessary added stress on the CV boots. It works with our Topo lift kit or on stock-height vans, and adjustable preload grooves allow installers to fine-tune ride height during setup.
Each kit includes our new sway bar links and updated anti-rotation brackets.
Sold as a matched pair.

Ordered these early. Put them on in January at a certified Vancompass installler, ..Main line Overland in Charlotte, North Carolina..
Drove out from South Carolina to big Bend in Texas along interstate 10. The struts did improve handling of the front end..
However, The struts are very loud when running over bridge expansion joints, and pot hole rough roads. I was so concerned that I took it back to mainline Overland after returning from Texas to have them check the struts. I’ve read several of the reviews here and online in various forms about failure issues.. Mainline overland did not inform me of any recalls from Van compass.(I don’t believe Van compass has even issued one.).
If I was sitting on the fence… trying to determine if I should put these on my 2 inch Van compass lift on my transit. I would wait… I wore out the Ford OEM front struts at 35,000 miles and a replacement under warranty by Ford. I kept the old “New replacement “ Ford OEM replacement struts just in case… I will say handling is better. But in the back of my mind, I’m waiting for a failure issue.. mind you my build is 9000 pounds when fully loaded and a hightop 2021 Ford transit all-wheel-drive.
What a mess. A Van Compass representative recommended these items for the lift kit I am installing. Apparently, these are not even compatible with my 2024 Ford Transit. So, after 7.5 hours waiting for everything to be installed, Owl Outdoor (install) found that the struts rub the wheels and it is not even drivable. So, I now have to wait another 3 hours for this to be remedied.
I originally tried to order this in November, and was not able to do so until January. Then, the parts did not arrive until March 6th. I asked if shipping could be changed because I live full time in my campervan and it's already 90° in PHX. I was told no, that the shipping was worked into the price. I then asked if I could just return everything (about $6,500 worth of material) and told that I would incur a 3% charge.
Horrible experience, I would not recommend Van Compass to anyone.
Like others have stated , there is a serious design flaw with these. I have had the same failure mode twice now with the rotation of the sway bar link clamp into the tire. Van compass indicated they are talking with teraflex to correct the issue , but there isn’t a firm timeline or even root cause that has been communicated yet.
First off, I was THRILLED with the ride from these and said so in this thread on FTUSA - which I have since re-titled to reflect the current situation.

The YT link below is a video of a failed VC/Falcon inverted strut on our 2020 AWD Ford Transit. These were installed by VC's recommended installer in our area. The passenger side failed once and we assumed it was just not bolted into the lower pinch adequately. New bolts, confirmed torque, and back on our way. Then it failed AGAIN while going 5mph on a smooth, paved road.
Anyone purchasing these at this point is asking for trouble. Unless VC and/or Falcon can explain the problem and convincingly describe how it is resolved.... you're looking at a non-zero chance of a ruined tire and/or wheel. Not to mention the safety risk if it were to happen something more than a few miles per hour.
Here's a photo of what the tire looks like after 15 feet of driving after the failure. This has happened twice now to us. So far, no response from VC.
