A winch is one of the single most important pieces of recovery gear you need. Our front winch mount lets you add features without bulk or cluttering up your vans aerodynamics. This mount tucks behind the factory plastics and attaches to the front frame supports past the crumple zones to provide a strong pulling platform. Built in 3/4" D-ring mounts, a front 2" receiver tube and light bar (install optional) are all included to maximize functionality. With fitment for most winches up to 12000 lbs, you have all the capability you need to solve difficult, sticky predicaments. Our minimalistic design retains cruise control and parking sensor functionality, and preserves aerodynamics for a negligible effect on fuel economy.

I put this winch mount on a 2022 sprinter. My largest complaint is that I didn’t do it years earlier and have watched the prices slowly increase as with everything these days. I put in a Badland 1200k apex winch to save a bit of $. Ran into some minor snags along the way. 1) Either the winch mount was bent every so slightly during shipping or I have bent the frame of my van during some 4x4ing in Moab. Two of the bolt holes were off by 0.5 mm which didn’t allow for the bolts to thread properly. I had to take the mount back off and file the bolt holes just a bit to get the holes to line up. This was even with not fully tightening the mount down to try and get enough play to start all the bolts prior to securing it. 2) The Badland Apex winch free spool handle turns the wrong direction and makes contact with the winch mount making it impossible to turn without modifying either the mount or the handle. I choose to cut the handle short. This allows it to be turned in place, but made it soooo difficult to turn due to the loss of the mechanical advantage of the handle.. I ended up having to drill a hole in what was left of the handle to thread a bolt that I could move back and forth for leverage kind of like those on the side of a vice to tighten the vice. 3)The Fairlead from Badland is too thick for the carriage bolts supplied with the mount. Rather than taking everything down to replace the bolts with longer ones I found a thinner Fairlead on sale for $12 with shipping.
Otherwise I’m very happy with the results, just have to place my aftermarket fog lights on the bull bar.
Extremely pleased with this front winch mount! Well designed, sturdy, yet lighter in weight than other winch mount bumpers. I had it installed at Owl Off-road. All MB safety systems and sensors intact with zero issues. I have not needed to use the winch yet, but have used the hitch plenty. Thank you VC for engineering an incredible product!
Fast shipping, super high quality. OEM fit and finish.
I was loo-king for a winch mount didn’t replace the existing factory bumper. This product delivered. Installation was pretty straight forward with the most time consuming trip being cutting and fitting the plastic outer bumper back over the mount. Instructions for the cutting were just OK and it required lots of trimming and putting the bumper cover off and on many times. Access to the free spool switch on the winch is tight but doable, looking at some of the braces it appears they could be modified a bit to make it easier. I used the 12,000 lb Apex winch from Harbor freight (Warn clone) and space wise it fit well. Typical high quality Vancompass product
Perfect fit and easy install. They need to update their install manual. I don’t buy the inverted Torx. You do t need it. Also, it seems like they combined an old manual and a new manual when they updated their product. Other than that it was easy. Took me about three shifts of nice slow work to make sure I was doing it right. Dremmel did the job on trimming the plastic bumper
